Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is an economic immigration program, designed to attract people who have the skills, education, and work experience needed to contribute to Manitoba’s economy. Through the program, Manitoba selects individuals from around the world and nominates them to become permanent residents of Canada, helping ensure that immigration aligns with the province’s labour market needs and community needs.

Unlike other types of immigration, such as family sponsorship or refugee protection, the MPNP focuses specifically on economic outcomes. This includes nominating immigrants who can address labour shortages, support local employers, and contribute to business investment. Applicants are selected based on their potential to become economically established, meaning they are likely to be employable, support themselves and their families, and contribute to the province’s economy over the long term.

The MPNP includes three pathways:

  1. The Skilled Worker Stream, for skilled immigrants in and outside of Manitoba
  2. The International Education Stream, for Manitoba graduates
  3. The Business Investor Stream, for investors and entrepreneurs

Ultimately, the MPNP supports Manitoba’s economy by addressing workforce needs, supporting employers, and bolstering communities across the province.
