Manitoba’s regional immigration initiatives are designed to address the specific economic, labour market, and demographic needs of regional communities outside of Winnipeg. These initiatives, developed in collaboration with municipal governments, employers, settlement organizations and economic development offices, aim to facilitate the recruitment and settlement of skilled immigrants and business investors to bring the benefits of immigration to all regions of the province.
All regional immigration initiatives are designed and implemented within federal and provincial guidelines to ensure program integrity and compliance with the Canada–Manitoba Immigration Agreement and agreed-to Terms of Reference framed around governance, transparency, program integrity and accountability.
The regional immigration initiatives currently active are:
- Morden’s Community Driven Immigration Initiative
- Winkler-Stanley Economic Development Corporation (WSEDC) Pilot Immigration Initiative
- Immigrate Parkland
- Brandon–Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Immigration Initiative
- West Central Manitoba Immigration Initiative
Candidates who have received an Invitation to Apply under a strategic recruitment initiative, including a regional immigration initiative, are eligible to receive 500 points in their Expression of Interest (EOI).
